FAQ
Will I need any additional licenses to import IT Equipment into Taiwan?
Most of our clients will require either a BSMI permit or an NCC permit to import their equipment into Taiwan. The BSMI (The Bureau of Standards, Metrology, and Inspection) is the entity responsible for testing and regulating electronics and electronic equipment. Most, if not all, of FGX clients will require this permit to successfully import their products into Taiwan. You may be able to receive a “free” BSMI certificate if your products satisfy a specific list of requirements for import, including that the product is not available for sale in Taiwan.
The NCC (National Communications Commission) Permit pertains to all wireless equipment. Many of our clients will require this permit to ensure that their equipment meets all the standards and regulations, including clients wanting to ship laptops and cellular phones. FGX will manage all additional permits and authorizations needed for import into Taiwan.
Are there restrictions on bulk shipments to Taiwan?
Taiwan has restrictions on how much of the same equipment can be imported at one time. These regulations are crucial for protecting the country against economic risks. However, with a knowledgeable Importer of Record provider, you can avoid customs delays from shipping too much equipment at once, and we can coordinate your shipments so that all your equipment arrives on time.
