FAQ
What is a CCC and how will it affect my shipment?
In China, to comply with local safety regulations, manufacturers and brand owners will need to obtain a China Compulsory Certificate (CCC) for an array of product types. The CCC is similar to other product standardization and safety documentation necessary in other countries. In China, you generally need the certificate for primary electrical devices or power supplies, and exemptions are available for select product categories.
For the purpose of import, what is the difference between a primary and secondary device?
Primary Device: In simple terms, primary devices refer to the electronic equipment that performs the main function of the equipment and connects directly to mains power. This includes computers, servers, switches, etc.
Secondary Device: Secondary devices are the non-electronic accessories to the primary devices, such as optical transceivers, adapter cards, or other accessories that do not connect to mains power.
Are there any restrictions on what equipment I can import into China?
China does not allow the import of used electronic goods. It’s important to note that “used,” by import standards, refers to any equipment not in its original packaging. We highly recommend that if you are importing goods into China, you buy them new unless absolutely necessary to do otherwise.
Additionally, due to ongoing tensions with trade relations between the US and China, equipment restrictions on hardware are in constant flux. Equipment designated as “encrypted” or containing semiconductor chips may have updated restrictions since the last time you shipped. FGX, as a managed logistics provider, can help you navigate these restrictions based on the details of your shipment.
