Can I act as my own Importer of Record in Australia?
In order to act as your own Importer of Record in Australia, you must have a registered, local business entity. Most of our clients do not have a registered business in Australia and therefore, will have to utilize FGX’s Importer of Record services. However, if you do have a registered local entity, FGX can still manage the shipment while allowing your entity to act as Importer of Record and reclaim any VAT taxes.
Are there any restrictions on what equipment I can import into Australia?
Unlike many other countries, you will generally not need any special permits for importing telecommunications or electronic equipment into Australia. Australia is open to most brands, equipment, and used/unused statuses.
