Can I act as my own Importer of Record in South Africa?
South Africa requires importers to have a physical footprint in the country in order to become a registered importer. This makes utilizing an Importer of Record service an ideal solution for companies looking to support their IT infrastructure there, especially if you have a PoP in a colocation.
Will I need any additional licenses to import IT Equipment into South Africa?
Like most countries, South Africa will require you to obtain an import permit which FGX can obtain for you. Certain telecommunications equipment may require special permitting. FGX will manage all additional permits and authorizations needed for import into South Africa.
