FAQ
What is CPSR and how will it affect my shipment?
The Consumer Party Safety Regulation (CPSR) body requires certain goods to be tested for safety requirements before they are imported into Singapore. However, the import process in Singapore is extremely advanced. If customs is familiar with your equipment, you may not need to receive pre-approval from CPSR; you may simply need to provide the HS code. A knowledgeable import service provider, like FGX, should be able to establish when pre-approval is needed and when your equipment can be shipped without additional requirements.
Can I act as my own Importer of Record in Singapore?
In order to act as your own Importer of Record in Singapore, you must have a registered, local business entity. While Singapore is one of the more common countries for our clients to have a local entity, most of our clients do not have a registered business in Singapore. Therefore, they will have to utilize FGX’s Importer of Record services.
