FAQ
Are there any additional approvals that I will need to import IT Equipment into Lebanon?
Import into Lebanon requires approval from the Ministry of Telecommunications (MoT), Ministry of Economics (MoE), and the Industrial Research Institute (IRI). The MoT and MoE require you to gain clearance approval before the equipment is shipped, and approval typically takes one working week. They can both be completed simultaneously.
The Industrial Research Institute (IRI) of Lebanon is the body responsible for providing standards, inspections, and certifications for equipment in Lebanon. Your equipment will have to be approved by the institute, and the necessary documentation will need to be procured by your Importer of Record service. If your equipment has not already received certification from IRI, it is best to find equipment that already has it. Obtaining proper IRI documentation takes roughly one working week.
Are there any restrictions on what equipment I can import into Lebanon?
Lebanon does not allow the import of used goods. If you are looking to import IT hardware into Lebanon, you should buy the equipment new and ensure it’s in its original packaging.
