Importer of Record and Pre-Shipment Documentation

Importer of Record

Many of our clients have a business entity in Europe, allowing them to act as their own Importer of Record anywhere in the EEA (European Economic Area). If you have a business entity in Europe and are EORI registered, you may be able to import anywhere in the EEA without needing a third-party IOR. With our door-to-data center service, FGX can help you determine if you are able to import freely in Europe, how to act as your own IOR, and how to reclaim the VAT you paid on import.

If you do not have a business entity in the EU that allows you to act as your own importer of record, FGX is also able to provide IOR services in the Netherlands.

IT Shipping

The Netherlands is a popular location to import, stage, and operate IT equipment for a number of reasons. First, the Netherlands has a major ports that serve as an entry hub for the rest of the Europe. Once your shipment has passed through customs in the Netherlands it will not need to pass customs again as it moves through Europe. Second, the Netherlands has one of the highest rate of connectivity in Europe, 98% of its residents being connected. For many companies that deploy IT services internationally, this means that the Netherlands will be one of the first countries they deploy IT hardware into when expanding globally.

FGX manages all of our client’s shipments door-to-door (or door-to-data center). This case study showcases how we navigated IT logistics and importation into the Netherlands at the time that it was written.
