Importer of Record

It is uncommon for our clients to act as their own Importer of Record in Algeria. Algeria has strict rules for company ownership that restrict many of our clients from having a registered entity in Algeria. If you do have a registered entity in Algeria with a valid import license, FGX can assist you in acting as your own Importer of Record. However, if you are looking to import equipment into Algeria, and do not have your own business, FGX can act as your Importer of Record.

Local Sale Regulations

Algerian customs closely reviews the origin of each transaction, whether or not payment for the imported goods is required, and how the ownership will be managed in-country. Depending on the set-up of your local entities in the U.S. and the status of your entity in Algeria, you may have to undergo a more complex process so you can properly import your equipment.

Bank Domiciliation

The bank domiciliation process is one of the lengthiest parts of shipping your equipment to Algeria. The bank domiciliation process requires that you submit all your documents – master airway bill, bill of materials, commercial invoices, certificates of conformity, and certificate of free marketing to the local bank in Algeria so they can approve your shipment.

The bank domiciliation process can take up to 40 days after you have submitted all of the proper paperwork. There are very specific, strict requirements on how forms are filled out, how the documents are signed, etc.
